I use to use 20-50 and 50 wt. oil (I served my earlier years driving Triumphs, BSA and Velocette motorcycles. The modern Japaniese cycles, "clutch and shift" the best with 10-40 wt. oil, but only motorcycle oil is designed for motorcycle wet clutches and cycle transmissions!
Too heavy of an oil will cause clutch drag even if the clutch is adjusted correctly. I prefer Mobil 10-40 full synthetic Motorcycle oil, which can be purchased at some auto stores such as Auto Zone.
